Sign-up flows empower you to design and customize beautiful sign-up units within the Attentive platform. Use these sign-up units to grow your subscriber lists by quickly converting visitors to SMS and email subscribers, and feel more confident knowing that our tool was designed with ADA and TCPA compliance in mind.

- Starting on the Sign-up Units tab, click + Create sign-up flow.
The Create sign-up flow window appears. - Click Choose template to build a sign-up unit using one of Attentive’s pre-built sign-up unit templates or Build custom to create a new sign-up unit from scratch; then click Continue.
- On the Create sign-up flow page, enter a name for the unit.
- Under Templates, choose a template. Templates with higher conversion rates are noted.
- Click Start with template.
- Proceed to designing your sign-up unit.
Components of a sign-up unit builder
Using the sign-up unit builder, you'll take three main actions:
- Design the unit
- Assign an offer and a welcome journey
- Set display rules
The Save changes button allows you to save your progress and return later to complete your work.
Sign-up unit experience for existing subscribers
You can customize the message that appears in sign-up units for subscribers who are already on the list, but submit their information again. For more information about changing the message that appears when existing subscribers sign up, see Customize messages for existing subscribers.
Sign-up units collect email addresses before SMS numbers to optimize conversion through our patented two-tap mobile technology. This order creates the smoothest possible sign-up flow for your customers and helps maximize both email and SMS opt-ins.
Assign custom attributes to a sign-up unit
You can also assign a custom attribute to a sign-up unit to identify subscribers who submit their information via that unit. This allows you to create messaging specific to these subscribers and to target them in campaigns or trigger a joined-a-segment journey.
